Sometimes I feel like being silly. Tom Harris’s post Let’s play The Remake Game invited ideas for who should play the lead roles in film remakes.

I suggested a remake of ‘The Day the Earth Stood Still‘ starring Gordon Brown as Gort, the indestructible robot.

Ah, but Gort’s mission was to make us Earthlings live in peace with one another, so Gordon wouldn’t be at all convincing in the role.

But he’d surely be ideal for the title role of another 1951 classic, “The Thing From Another World”.
