PZ Myers is a very rude and intollerant man and has just shown profound disrespect on Twitter. Consequently, many visitors are coming here, so here is the kind of man Prof. Myers is and how much he respects the truth: this was originally posted here on 24th September this year…
PZ Myers is a biologist and associate professor at the University of Minnesota. He has a big chip on his shoulder about religion and Creationism. He has a popular blog where he writes articles that can whip some of his regular readers into a frenzy of blasphemy and hatred.
Recently, he stated that “Finally, a good use of the Bible” is using its pages to make a joint out of.
Now, you would think that a professor with such strong opinions would take facts and figures very seriously. The other day there was a poll on CNN’s website:
Do you believe in God?
Yes 69%
No 31%
Myers encouraged his people to vote and the figures rapidly went the other way to a whopping 67% ‘No’.
What this clever clogs did was to totally skew the poll and produce almost the complete opposite of the truth.
I can’t say I’m surprised because the Theory of Evolution depends upon fabrications, distortions and downright lies.
If he was half as clever as he thinks he is, Myers would stick to educating people, if that’s what he believes he’s doing. Maybe he’s not so sure. That would explain his continual ad hominem attacks.

it didn’t screw up the poll. perhaps only christians were watching at the time. so he was justified in encouraging atheists to partake. i assume they were busy helping others at the time and took time out of their day to vote. you really should say “thanks atheists”!
In case anyone hasn’t noticed, people ARE losing their religion at an alarming rate. Perhaps the poll wasn’t skewed all? Maybe there’s a lot less people that believe in God, or at least the “God Products” of the Organized Revealed Religions, than you think.
Well, the Bible also says… that people will be lovers of themselves in the last days. Boasters, full of pride and lacking wisdom. People like PZ Myers are good examples of this, but not good examples for mankind.
Given both believers and non-believers alike frequent PZ Myer’s blog, one might expect both groups to visit the polls and vote accordingly. It just so happens there are far more atheists than people like to believe.
Also, you should be careful about drawing extrapolations to the overall population from the initial small sample sizes of such polls.

I don’t know about that – I’m always vastly outnumbered by ‘atheists’ in discussions on his blog.
From the polls I have seen, only about one in seven people categorise themselves as ‘atheist’ so maybe the poll was skewed before Myers got involved. Also, the question wasn’t right, which means I didn’t vote.
Even if the poll was 100% “yes”, us scary atheists would still exist, smoking bible joints and pointing out when religious nuts do sh***y things in god’s name.
You don’t even want to know what i do to Gideon Bibles in hotel rooms.
That’s the thing about free will, frzz, you can live how you like, but you’ll reap the rewards whether for good or evil.

Polls like that are not scientific in any fashion, and generally state as much in the fine print. It’s a popularity contest, and anyone who wants can cast their vote. If someone chooses to attempt to skew the results, so be it.
As for PZ choosing to “take the Lord’s name in vain”, that’s up to him. You actively chose to follow a person on twitter who is a well-known atheist, and is also known for not mincing his words. You then ask him to change his language to suit your religious standards?!?!?!!??? How very, very Christian of you, I must say.
Polls are not scientific Dan, true, and certainly not once PZ gets involved!
It is a generally accepted standard that when Person A asks Person B to moderate their language that they do. Being an ‘atheist’ is irrelevant. PZ Myers showed himself up to be the ignoramus that he is.
