Making the headlines for preaching from the Bible

What a lot of silly people go to church sometimes. This lot don’t want challenged; they don’t want to hear what the Bible says; no, they are on the wide road that leads to Hell and they want to stay there.

The vicar and his curate from St Nicholas Church in Sevenoaks, Kent, have managed to find their way into the Daily Mail for asking wives to submit to their husbands, like the Bible says, and for suggesting that so many marriages are breaking up because women fail to do this.

It is understood some women parishioners – and even their husbands – have vowed never to attend the church again.

Even their husbands? I wonder if the wives have told them to stay away or if they have joined the professionally offended.

Here is what some of the parishioners said,

One woman churchgoer said she was ‘disgusted’ by the sermon, adding: ‘How can they talk that way in the 21st Century?’

This wonderful 21st Century of peace and understanding, eh?

Another, who also did not want to be named, said: ‘We’re supposed to let our husbands talk for us and remain silent? What kind of medieval sermon is that?’

It’s about who preaches in church. And it was written long before medieval times, silly.

Mr MacLeay, a Scotsman who sometimes wears a kilt to church, said: ‘There are times when the Bible challenges modern society. It recognises that women are fully equal to men, but it also recognises that in certain areas of life they may have different roles.

Well, there’s your problem. You’re not supposed to be ‘different’ in the 21st Century. That idea is just so passé; so medieval.

But there is some hope in Sevenoaks:

A woman of 24 who was at the sermon said: ‘Isn’t it a vicar’s job not to tell you what everyone wants to hear and what society says, but to help explain the Bible says about issues?’

You think the Mail readers hate ZaNu Liebore’s social engineering? Judging by most of the comments, they love it:

Isn’t this medieval view of women part of the reason we are fighting the Taliban? How many goats does the Vicar think a woman is worth then?

Screaming Woman, England

No, geopolitical objectives and natural resources are the reason we are fighting the Taliban.

Stupid vicars like these do the most harm to any faith in God at all.

And what do you do to help, Susie Wusie Woo Woo?

First class misogynist!

– Gabrielle Cleasby, Aubiet, France

Simply name-calling with a word encouraged by the social engineers. You’re a real ‘free-thinker,’ aren’t you?

To prove my point that my native Scotland is the most spiritually backward country in the world…

“Man kind will never be free until the last stone of the last church falls upon the last preacher”

– CJ, Greenock, Scotland

That a vicar has caused moral outrage by preaching from the bible (in this case Ephesians 5:22-24) says a lot about the moral worth of the bible.

– Alan, Edinburgh

Would CJ’s comment have been approved if he had said:

“Mankind will never be free until the last stone of the last mosque falls upon the last imam,” or

“Mankind will never be free until the last stone of the last synagogue falls upon the last rabbi”?

These people have become SO dumbed down that they cannot see how they have been manipulated. And Alan from Edinburgh is really confused. The gospel is supposed to offend idiots like him!

I didn’t have the time, and certainly not the will, to read all of the hundreds of comments, but this one from “an nhs employee, Rome, Italy” has it right:

Let’s face it he’s right! People (men and women) don’t know their place any more. Just look at the state of modern British society! We are not all the same, we each have our place in the family and society, now just as much as in the past regardless of such modern ideas as feminism and equality.

Needless to say, he has lots of red arrows.

I have said this before and I will say it again. The strongest women I know are the ones who have been brought up in the sort of Christian traditions that are attacked for being misogynistic.

Please try to understand, those who don’t already, that feminism is a mechanism the elites have been employing to destroy society. This is why they want you to be confused over gender roles and the reason they encourage promiscuity and unnatural sexual practices. If you go against nature, destruction is likely. For them, a dysfunctional society is the prize; one where everyone is equal – equally poor; equally enslaved; equally dumb. One where resistance is not only futile, but where poverty, slavery and stupidity are celebrated and those who can still think and reason are reckoned to be living in medieval times.

I think the words ‘submit’ and ‘silent’ need to be interpreted for the modern day. For some male to preach these to me I would consider he was suggesting I enter slavery. I’ve witnessed women who live by this rule. Some handle it well but they’re usually a much stronger character than their husbands. The majority just sink into oblivion and consider themselves non-entities. The men have no respect for them whatsoever. It wasn’t a good sermon to give, or should I say it wasn’t a well-worded sermon.

I’m all for the family being a proper unit Stewart. The balance of women within marriage hasn’t changed that much but no person should EVER control another.

Thanks for your comments, SR. Personally, I think that the modern woman doesn’t understand what’s being said here, or indeed, what a healthy relationship entails. I don’t actually know any women who consider themselves non-entities – but I know a lot of men who do. Perhaps this is due to their traditional role as father, protector and breadwinner being constantly undermined.

Men and women’s roles are different, and thank goodness for that!
