Personally, I think that the modern woman doesn't understand what's being said here, or indeed, what a healthy relationship entails. I don't actually know any women who consider themselves non-entities - but I know a lot of men who do. Perhaps this is due to their traditional role as father, protector and breadwinner being constantly undermined. Men and women's roles are different, and thank goodness for that! For some male to preach these to me I would consider he was suggesting I enter slavery. I've witnessed women who live by this rule. Some handle it well but they're usually a much stronger character than their husbands. The majority just sink into oblivion and consider themselves non-entities. The men have no respect for them whatsoever. It wasn't a good sermon to give, or should I say it wasn't a well-worded sermon. I'm all for the family being a proper unit Stewart.
