At the time of writing, 3am (awake due to sick dog howling like a banshee), this is considered the main news on the Channel 4 website. Not the main UK news or most pertinent politics news even, but the most important news in the whole world. Period.
This is Greek-born Demetri Marchessini (and this is his blog), who has donated three lots of £5,000 to UKIP, which apparently makes him the party’s sixth largest donor.
That’s not important. What is ‘news’ is that he is super-politically incorrect. Women shouldn’t wear trousers (because they are more attractive in skirts and we need to increase the Western birth rate), homosexuals don’t love (they only lust) and black people had better lives as slaves in the Americas than as slaves in Africa, if they survived the crossing.
This is serious news for the folks at Channel 4, who are as obsessed with denigrating UKIP as the other mainstream broadcasters.
The third ‘most important’ news story down the left-hand column is UKIP’s Deputy Chairman, Neil Hamilton, distancing his party from this “eccentric” donor. But not going as far as distancing their bank account from his, you’ll have noticed. Mr Marchessini says they are always on the telephone asking for more money.
Within the main article is a video of Mr Marchessini expressing his views and further down one of Nigel Farage being asked about whether the party should accept money from people with such views, who responded,
“I don’t know, you’ll have to ask the treasurer won’t you? I’m sure he gave the money in good faith, the money was taken in good faith.”
When asked whether Ukip should take money from a man with these kinds of views, Mr Farage added: “Possibly not, no. Ask the treasurer. I don’t run everything.”
Because I’m sure that all the other parties ask their donors to fill out forms to make certain that they harbour no thought crimes whatsoever. The Tory and Labour parties received nearly £8 million between them during October, November and December 2013, obviously every penny from fine, upstanding, fully inclusive, PC-friendly snuggle bunnies, like Tony Blair, who is considering making a “large donation” to help Labour try to escape their financial black hole.
I wonder what Channel 4 will say about Blair’s “philanthropy”, likely to be dozens, maybe hundreds of times more than Mr Marchessini’s. You can bet they won’t give the warmongering, lying traitor, who some say covered up child sex abuse in high places, anything like such treatment.
As I wrote two posts ago, the mainstream media and parties are concerned about the threat from UKIP.
At the end of the Nigel Farage video, he says that the big political question of the day and the reason people are turning to or against UKIP is the attitude towards EU membership and open-door immigration and tells the Channel 4 man “and nobody from your organisation has asked me a single question about that during this campaign” [for the European Parliament election three weeks away].
Channel 4 have just made their ‘news’ on-screen and on their website look pathetic. That they are part of the Establishment propaganda machine is beyond question.
