This is a plea to Barack Obama to come from Chicago and help Change the World and to allow Gary McKinnon to have his life back.

Thanks to the wonder that is Twitter, Gary’s mum Janis Sharp tells me that Graham Nash gave her permission to change the lyrics to appeal to Obama. She says that Chicago was about Graham Nash appealing to Stephen Stills and Dave Crosby to join him in protest against the unjust trial of Chicago 8 protestors.

From The Register,

The High Court has granted a further judicial review of the Home Secretary’s decision to allow extradition proceeding against Pentagon hacker Gary McKinnon to proceed. The move means the imminent threat of extradition against McKinnon is removed until at least April.

The latest in a long line of appeals by McKinnon will consider whether McKinnon’s mental state is too frail to withstand a US trial and likely imprisonment over hacking attacks dating from 2001 and 2002.

The unemployed former sys-admin, who was diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome last year, was first arrested in 2002 and has been fighting extradition since 2005.

There might be a happy ending yet.

The normally slippery character that is Keith Vaz has suggested that Gary McKinnon, who hacked into US Defense websites, should be given a job by the Government rather than be extradited.

The intelligence that enabled the Asperger’s sufferer to hack into American military computers could be put to good use, according to Keith Vaz.

Quite.

Mr Vaz, who is chairman of the home affairs select committee, repeated his call for Home Secretary Alan Johnson to let Gary stay in Britain – although Mr Johnson claims he does not have such power.

Alan Johnson is one of our despicable ones. If he doesn’t have the power, then something stinks. Who does have the power over British people? Perhaps he is confused about the one-sided extradition treaty where a US citizen is worth more than a Brit.

And Michael Howard has just blogged, “We must replace the Human Rights Act with a British Bill of Rights.”

David Cameron proposes to replace the Human Rights Act with a British Bill of Rights.

Nice sentiment, but that all rather depends on what Cameron does about the EU.

I hope that David Cameron renews the efforts of the last Conservative Government to persuade the European Court of Human Rights to increase the extent to which it respects the right of member states to decide these matters themselves.

I’m afraid that’s not part of the agenda, so Mr Howard, please campaign vigorously for a total withdrawal from the EU and then we can have that British Bill of Rights and anything else we want with our rediscovered freedom.

So then, sensible ideas from both sides of the House. What next? Ed Miliband admitting that the earth has always had natural cycles of warming and cooling? Or Alex Salmond coming clean that an ‘independent’ Scotland controlled by Brussels would be a disaster?

Imagine if we could trust politicians to tell us the plain and simple truth…

I just thought you’d like to know that we’ve spent £650 buying Abu Hamza nice new taps for his cell in Belmarsh Prison that he can operate with his hook.

Even though he could manage the old ones perfectly well.

A prison source said bosses at the jail were always bowing down to his demands. “It seems that whenever he says, Jump’, the authorities ask him, How high?’, ” said the source. “No one in here can understand why we’re spending the money to do this when he’s had no problem using the same taps as everyone else for the five years he’s been here.”

Gosh, they’re only celebrating diversity. He was jailed for seven years for inciting murder and preaching hate at Finsbury Park mosque. The amazing thing is that he is still incarcerated and hasn’t been given a few grand to relocate to sunnier climes.

The Americans and Yemenis have both wanted Hamza extradited to face trial for suspected crimes, but so far without success. Meanwhile, our shameful government are still reluctant to prevent the extradition of hacker and Asperger’s sufferer, Gary McKinnon, who faces the rest of his life in an American jail if found guilty.

More of that great British justice. Don’t you just love it?

For the benefit of my several overseas visitors, Gary McKinnon is a British man who has Asperger’s Syndrome and has been accused of hacking into Pentagon websites looking for evidence for UFOs. He is due to be extradited to the USA thanks to the unequal agreement between the two countries. If found guilty, he faces up to 60 years, i.e. the rest of his life, in jail.

This video nicely exposes the cowardice and incompetence of our British establishment.

By the way, one of my websites was hacked into last month and I lost a few days of trading, plus had to pay for it to get fixed. The criminals had found a glitch in the zen cart system and were using it to send out vast amounts of spam.

You can bet that these people are more wicked and destructive than Mr McKinnon.

Come on Messrs Brown (“I have sympathy”) and Johnson: do the decent thing.
